A large-scale elevator replacement is underway in the Vitebsk region
By the end of 2020, more than 320 elevators will be replaced in the major cities of the country's northern region. Over 3 million rubles will be spent from the budget for these purposes. Many citizens have already appreciated the new level of comfort.
In 2018-2019, according to the "Safe Elevator" subprogram, which is part of the comprehensive State Program "Comfortable Housing and a Conducive Environment," almost 430 elevators were replaced in the high-rise buildings of Vitebsk's housing stock alone. This year, the regional center plans to update another 210 elevators. In Novopolotsk - 88, Polotsk - 19, Orsha - 7, Novolukoml - 2.
Among the winners of the tender for the installation of equipment from the Mogilev elevator plant OJSC "Vitebsklift." The organization participated in the replacement of the largest number of elevators in the city; it services 3.5 thousand elevators in Vitebsk alone.
The Director of JSC "VitebskLift" Ivan Radkevich spoke about the advantages of modernization:
— From dismantling to the handover of the new mechanism under turnkey will take a month and a half. The result will please the residents, because new generation elevators are comfortable, beautiful and, most importantly, many times safer.
New elevators will run faster. If earlier they accelerated up to 0.7 meters per second, now they accelerate up to a meter. Among the advantages is an increased load capacity of up to 400 kilograms. And also frequency converters, which allow the elevator to move smoothly, open silently and save up to 30 percent of electricity.
Experienced installer Alexander Prokopenko says that residents of houses where work is currently underway react differently to the changes:
— Some are sincerely pleased. Others find it hard to imagine how they will walk up to the upper floors for a month while the installation is underway. But in any case, the temporary inconveniences are worth it. A modern elevator, installed conscientiously, will last for many years.
