In the Vitebsk region, the mass stocking of agricultural products into stabilization funds will begin on September 15, as reported by the main department of trade and services of the regional executive committee.

In total, for the upcoming inter-seasonal period, the region plans to procure 7.9 thousand tons of potatoes, 4.1 thousand tons of white cabbage, 2 thousand tons of carrots, 1.5 thousand tons of beets, 2.4 thousand tons of onions, and about 2 thousand tons of fruits. This year, the volume of carrots and beets stocked remains at last year's level, while for other items it slightly exceeds it, which is due to market conditions.

The stocking of vegetables and fruits will be carried out in 45 storage facilities with a total storage capacity of 61.3 thousand tons. Of these, 27 are managed by agricultural organizations, 11 by consumer cooperatives, and 7 by trading enterprises. To date, all storage facilities have undergone the necessary repairs, and readiness certificates have been signed. The facilities are fully prepared to receive potatoes and fruit and vegetable products for storage.

The main department of trade and services also noted that to fully provide the population with fresh fruits and vegetables, autumn weekend fairs will be organized weekly in cities and district centers of the region starting from September 14, until the onset of frost. Republican agricultural enterprises and peasant farms of the region will participate in these fairs.
