In the Vitebsk region, the number of self-employed citizens has increased by more than 23% over the year (since October 1, 2018), as reported by the press service of the regional tax inspectorate.

According to the results of nine months, over 4.5 thousand individuals in the region are engaged in activities without registration as individual entrepreneurs, provided they pay a single tax. This is 851 people more compared to the same period in 2018. They have paid almost Br628 thousand, which is comparable to the tax revenue to the budget from taxpayers for such activities as furniture production (for nine months, they replenished the treasury by about Br900 thousand) or laundry, dry cleaning, and dyeing of textile and fur products (Br1.2 million).

The most in-demand activities among the self-employed are hairdressing and cosmetic services (1045 people are engaged in this, or 23% of the total number of individuals paying a single tax), and compared to the same period in 2018, their number has increased by 62%. Also popular is the trade of bakery and confectionery products, floriculture products, and decorative plants (1012 people, or 22%).

During the period from October 2018, the number of such individuals paying a single tax who provide copying and document preparation services (their number has more than doubled) has grown most dynamically, as well as repair of sewing and knitted items (growth rate of 185%), sawing and splitting firewood, loading and unloading of goods (174%). Since 2019, new types of activities have become available for individual taxpayers, which can be pursued on a declarative basis. These include face painting (four people provide this service in the Vitebsk region) and consumer goods packaging (three people).
