In the Vitebsk region, the mass laying of vegetable products in stabilization funds will begin in October

In total, for the upcoming inter-seasonal period, the region plans to procure 8.5 thousand tons of potatoes, 4.5 thousand tons of white cabbage, 2 thousand tons of carrots, 1.5 thousand tons of beets, 2.4 thousand tons of onions, and about 2 thousand tons of fruits. This volume of agricultural products corresponds to last year's level. The закладка of vegetables and fruits will be carried out in 55 storage facilities with a total storage capacity of 64.8 thousand tons. Of these, 26 are managed by agricultural organizations, 21 by consumer cooperatives, and 8 by trade enterprises.

All storage facilities have undergone the necessary repair work, disinfection of premises, and cleaning of territories, ensuring optimal conditions for storing potatoes and fruit and vegetable products. The work on forming stabilization funds in the region has already begun: with the start of harvesting potatoes and beets, the first volumes of these agricultural products have also started to arrive at the storage facilities.

The закладка of carrots will begin in early October, and cabbage - closer to November. The main department of trade and services also noted that to increase the volume of sales of fresh vegetables and fruits to the population in cities and district centers of the region, weekly autumn fairs have been held since September 9, and daily trade in potatoes and fruit and vegetable products has been organized since September 16. Thematic fairs and weekend fairs are also held, with the participation of republican agricultural enterprises and peasant farms.
