In the Vitebsk region, medics propose replacing cigarettes with yoga and Nordic walking

A republican anti-tobacco campaign is being held in the Vitebsk region from November 16 to 19

, timed to coincide with the Unified Health Day "World No Tobacco Day. Prevention of Oncological Diseases," which is scheduled for November 19.

As reported by the regional center for hygiene, epidemiology, and public health, a number of interesting thematic events will take place in the region, which will once again draw attention to the possible negative consequences of active and passive smoking. The goal of the campaign is also to orient the population towards a healthy lifestyle and offer healthy alternatives to tobacco.

For example, in Vitebsk, the capital of the Dvina region, the Vitebsk Zonal Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology, together with the "PRANA" studio, recommends yoga as an option for active leisure. They will hold the "Take Yourself in Hand" campaign. In Verkhnedvinsk, in conjunction with the "White Crows" club, a bike ride will be organized for young people. And in Novopolotsk, volunteers from the "Health Experts" youth club will distribute thematic materials on the problem of smoking on trams. Polotsk will host a flash mob and Nordic walking lessons. Doctors from the Dokshitsy district will offer to replace nicotine with vitamins. In Dubrovno, the sale of tobacco products in the retail network of the district center will be suspended on November 19.

In all major cities of the region during the campaign, social advertising about the dangers of smoking will be broadcast on street screens, public transport, and television.
