In the Vitebsk region, the nomination of representatives to precinct election commissions will be completed this week

В Витебской области на текущей неделе завершится этап выдвижения представителей в участковые избирательные комиссии
This week, the nomination stage of the election campaign will conclude.

Initiative groups of candidates for the highest state office must submit signature sheets to the district and city election commissions no later than June 19, thereby completing the nomination of candidates. And Sunday will be the last day for accepting documents for the nomination of representatives to precinct commissions.

Next week, the personal composition of precinct election commissions will become known. Meanwhile, territorial commissions will have to verify the authenticity of voters' signatures and the number of signatures on the signature sheets. The quality of the work of the initiative groups will determine the immediate future of the election race participants, the number of whom has been reduced to 13 people. The regional election commission must, no later than July 4, consolidate the protocols on establishing the number of voters who signed for the nomination for the region as a whole and submit the documents to the Central Election Commission.

While commissions are working with the initiative groups of contenders, other subjects of the electoral process are mobilizing human resources to observe the electoral marathon. According to data from the beginning of the week, election commissions have accredited almost a hundred observers in total, of which more than 72% are working at district commissions.

Among political parties, only the KPB has joined the process so far. Public organizations are not slowing down their activity, accounting for more than 90% of accredited observers, including BRSM (26.6% of the total number of observers), trade unions affiliated with the FPB (17%), ROO "Belaya Rus" (13.8%), the public association of veterans, and the Belarusian Helsinki Committee (8.5% each).
