In the Vitebsk region, about 800 additional people will be involved during the sowing campaign
According to the chairman of the committee, about 6.8 thousand tractors will be involved in the region in the spring. Agricultural enterprises have 5.2 thousand machine operators to work on this equipment. "By relocating employees within farms from other jobs, the deficit is covered up to 800-820 people. The missing human resources will be replenished from outside, from employees of enterprises and organizations, as well as students of agricultural educational institutions," he said.
Regarding youth, Mikhail Pridibaylo explained that last year there was a good experience of involving students from educational institutions who have the necessary categories for operating transport, including energy-intensive equipment. About 800 of them worked: about 500 young people worked in the spring and about 350 in the autumn during the harvest. The same approach is planned for this year. He also recalled that by March 1, the task is to ensure equipment readiness at the 95% level.
"Agricultural organizations have a lot of work in January-February. It is actively underway now. It is important to accelerate this process with an emphasis on restoring energy-efficient machines first. "By using this powerful, modern equipment, we will be able to partially compensate for the shortage of human resources for the spring sowing campaign, as well as complete it within a short period of time," concluded Mikhail Pridibaylo.
For the Vitebsk region, agro-technical deadlines are ten days, and it is impossible to meet them without serious technical and organizational preparation, added the chairman of the committee for agriculture and food.
