In the Vitebsk region, the volume of benefits for citizens on property taxes in 2020 amounted to Br19.7 million
In total, the amount of accrued property taxes exceeded Br30.3 million, which is 36% more than in 2019. At the same time, Br10.6 million will actually be received by the budget. The remaining amount is accounted for by individuals who are entitled to benefits in accordance with the legislation. The share of beneficiaries exceeds 50% of the total number of taxpayers, including local authorities that provided benefits to seven citizens.
In total, about 450 thousand citizens are registered with the tax authorities of the Vitebsk region, who have been assessed real estate tax and land payments. Their number has increased by almost 10% compared to the data for 2019. Among the taxpayers are about 31.3 thousand owners of two or more apartments in apartment buildings and semi-detached houses, which approximately corresponds to the data for 2019.
The press service of the regional inspectorate reminded that citizens who own more than one apartment, private houses, dachas, garages and other non-residential buildings, as well as land plots, must make property payments and land rent no later than November 16 of the current year. This can be done in any way convenient for the taxpayer, including in cash at a bank or post office, as well as through an info kiosk or internet banking. In 2020, tax authorities sent notifications by mail for property payments to more than 200 thousand citizens, and to over 31 thousand more people – to personal taxpayer accounts. If a taxpayer has not received such a notification or is entitled to benefits, but they have not been granted, it is necessary to contact the tax authority at the location of the real estate.
