About 100 ice rinks will be equipped in the Vitebsk region
This winter, it is planned to equip 97 ice rinks, 66 hockey rinks, 110 ski trails, and 75 rental points for skates and skis in the Vitebsk region. Venues for active winter recreation enthusiasts will appear not only in cities and district centers but also in small settlements. The largest venues will feature changing areas and food service points.
– In Vitebsk, ice rinks will traditionally be equipped near the Summer Amphitheater, on Victory Square, and on the territory of the Central Sports Complex, – said Gleb Lazovsky, head of the organizational department of the Vitebsk Regional Educational and Methodological Center. – Ski trails will be laid in the floodplains of the Vitba and Luchosa rivers, in the 1000th Anniversary Park and the 30th Anniversary of the Komsomol Park, on Shmyrev, Komsomolskaya, Beloborodov, Ilyinsky, Yakub Kolas, Inzhenernaya, Nekrasov streets, as well as in Ruba and Verkhovye. Hockey rinks will be located in virtually every microdistrict – on the sports grounds of educational institutions and in courtyards. This year, two new rinks have been built – at Secondary School No. 23 and in the urban-type settlement of Tarny.
According to the source, the flooding of rinks will begin as soon as favorable weather conditions are established. The rental price for winter sports equipment will be quite affordable – in Vitebsk, skates can be rented for approximately 3 rubles per hour, and skis for 4 rubles.
