October 9, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. Laureates of the Z. Tusnolobova-Marchenko Prize have been determined in the Vitebsk region, the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Labor, Employment and Social Protection Committee informed a BELTA correspondent. Among the awardees are representatives from all regions of the oblast, from various professions. They include foster parents from family-type children's homes, adoptive parents, teachers, workers from Orsha Linen Mill, OJSC "Lantan", Verkhnedvinsk Butter and Cheese Plant, Krasnaya Zvezda Paper Mill, housewives, employees of cultural, healthcare and other institutions. Responsible, disciplined and hardworking at work, these women are also excellent examples at home, where, as mothers, they equally successfully demonstrate all their best qualities in raising children. As an example of a strong and friendly family, where a woman masterfully balances work and home, the committee cited a representative from the Braslav district: 35-year-old Alla Antoshechko, a teacher at the Akhremovtsy kindergarten, who, together with her husband, is raising three preschool and school-aged children, enjoys well-deserved respect among the kindergarten pupils' parents and the staff. At home, she is a tireless hostess who, along with other family members, constantly participates in school sports events and public projects ("Master of the Village," "Best Large Family of the Vitebsk Region-2012") that promote family values. The award ceremony for the women of Pridvinye with the Z. Tusnolobova-Marchenko Prize and the Order of Motherhood will take place on October 12 at the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. The awardees of these high honors have been invited to the festive event with their children. The prize named after Hero of the Soviet Union Z.M. Tusnolobova-Marchenko was established by the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee on the initiative of the Women's Council to enhance the prestige of motherhood and strengthen the institution of the family. The award is presented annually in October to 27 women of the region for their high moral example in strengthening the family and raising children, and establishing and maintaining harmonious family relationships. In total, 322 women of the region have been honored with this award to date (including the current laureates). Mother's Day is celebrated in Belarus on October 14. In the Vitebsk region, in anticipation of this important date, excursions to memorable places will be organized for adoptive and foster families of the Braslav district, and a competition program "Dad, Mom, I am a Musical Family" will be held there. In the Gluboksky district, campaigns aimed at supporting mothers will be held, as well as a competition among large families from Belarus, Lithuania, and Latvia. In general, thematic round tables, conferences, literary and poetry evenings are held throughout the region. Members of the regional women's organization, as well as student youth, take the most active part in the preparation and conduct of these events. In schools and kindergartens, exhibitions of children's drawings, essay contests, and concerts are organized for mothers. Congratulatory meetings are held at enterprises and in work collectives. In many districts, it has become a good practice to hold receptions for representatives of local authorities on personal matters, as well as mobile consultations with medical, social workers, and psychologists on the eve of the holiday. -0-
