A tally of two-thousand-bushel combine crews has been opened in the Vitebsk region
The youth combine crew of the Orsha district, leading the harvest in the Vitebsk region, has threshed over 2 thousand tons of grain.
The frontrunners of the harvest, Sergey Spotkay and Dmitry Batyukov, are working in the fields of the communal unitary enterprise "Agricultural Experimental Station "Ustyie", as reported by the regional committee of the agro-industrial complex workers' union. The grain growers were among the top three combine crews in the region to reach a thousand tons and have held the lead in the harvest ever since.
Three more crews are close to reaching a two-thousand-ton threshing volume, including the Kiselev brothers, who work on the same farm as the young frontrunners. The crew of OJSC "Agrokombinat "Yubileiny" of the Orsha district, consisting of Alexander Parchevsky and Igor Klimenkov, as well as combine operator Sergey Mazak, who is harvesting grain in the fields of the Tolochin Cannery, are approaching the coveted mark.
According to the regional agricultural sales department, 85% of grain and leguminous crops have been harvested in the region, with over 1 million tons of grain threshed. The average yield is 34.1 centners per hectare.
