The Vitebsk region has exceeded the plan for children's summer health improvement
Despite all concerns related to the coronavirus pandemic, the summer health improvement campaign in the Vitebsk region this year went better than expected. Camps with round-the-clock stay were filled to 100%, and the plan for children's health improvement was exceeded by 4%.
– In the current season, 71 camps with round-the-clock stay and 606 camps with day stay operated in the region. About 41 thousand children improved their health there, against a plan of 39.4 thousand, – said Snezhana Titova, head of the representative office of the Vitebsk Regional Department of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population. – In general, the 2021 health improvement campaign was successful. This was facilitated by the responsible attitude to children's health improvement of all involved services, financial investments of camp owners, and assistance from city, district, and regional budgets in preparation for the summer season, for which over 3 million rubles were spent.
Snezhana Alexandrovna noted that all categories of children were covered by attention. Thus, at the expense of the regional budget, 22 teenagers, with whom individual preventive work is carried out, spent the summer usefully at the "Chaika" camp of OJSC "Monolit". In total, during the summer holidays, over a thousand at-risk teenagers were involved in camps of various types.
Also, almost 2 thousand orphans and children left without parental care improved their health, 5.1 thousand children from large and low-income families, and for them, the vouchers were subsidized by 100% thanks to the support of the regional and local budgets.
The opportunity to rest and improve health during the summer period was provided to 381 children with disabilities. For example, "Raduga" of the Vitebsk Regional Children's Clinical Center hosted 40 children with cerebral palsy, musculoskeletal disorders, visual and hearing impairments.
And over 1.2 thousand teenagers decided to combine business with pleasure and spent their holidays in labor and recreation camps. Boys and girls helped with landscaping and greening, school and furniture repairs, sewing work clothes, etc. On average, they earned 250-460 rubles.
Although the school year has just begun, the issue of children's health improvement during the upcoming holidays is already being worked out. Day camps will be organized for schoolchildren, where 21.2 thousand children will be able to rest during the autumn and winter holidays.
