In the Vitebsk region, the inter-district traffic police departments were the first in Belarus to start operating
January 27, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Inter-district traffic police departments were the first in Belarus to start operating in the Vitebsk region. This was announced today at a press conference by the head of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Naidenko, BELTA correspondent reports.
Inter-district departments of the State Automobile Inspectorate operate in Orsha and Polotsk, and have been transferred functions for ensuring road safety and preventing road traffic accidents in cities and adjacent districts. As Alexander Naidenko noted, the creation of these units was the result of work to improve the activities of the police, the need for which was stated during the working meeting of the President of the country Alexander Lukashenko with the operational and commanding staff of the internal affairs bodies, which took place on June 29, 2009.
The structure and staffing of departments and services performing duplicate functions have also been optimized: the organizational and analytical department and the information and analytical department of the Internal Affairs Directorate, the public order protection department and the prevention department of the Internal Affairs Directorate have been merged into unified units, and the staffing of the administrative apparatus of the juvenile affairs inspectorate of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the regional executive committee has been reduced. The released employees have transferred to city and district inspectorates, strengthening the practical link of the juvenile affairs inspectorate.
According to Alexander Naidenko, the current organizational and staffing structure of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the region is optimally balanced and acceptable for performing the tasks set. -0-
