Nikolai Sherstnev named the worn-out material and technical base of agricultural organizations as one of the problems in the region. Currently, 17% of new dairy farms are operating in the region. The rest were built decades ago - technologies and equipment are outdated. "This affects milk yield and the efficiency of agricultural enterprises, so a decision has been made to update them," the head of the region noted. - The first option is the construction of new dairy and pig complexes. The second way is to restore what has been abandoned and is not working by economic means. This is much cheaper and easier. The first results can already be seen in the Orsha district. Construction organizations will also be involved."
It is planned that some technologies from new complexes will be moved to old ones after reconstruction. They will be able to raise livestock from young animals to heifers. New farms will create conditions for the milking herd. "Thus, we are reducing the cost of dairy complexes by 30-40%," Nikolai Sherstnev added.

An on-site meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee was held in the Orsha District. Its participants visited several operating and under-construction farms, as well as agricultural lands of the region's farms. During the meeting, they discussed work on ensuring life safety and preventing deaths from external causes. Special attention was paid to the implementation of the Orsha District development program until 2023, particularly in the agro-industrial complex and forestry sectors. Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Nikolai Sherstnev stated that the necessary results for the past months have not been achieved. Indicators are growing compared to last year, but this is not enough for the full growth of the economy and people's living standards.
