In the Vitebsk region, the task has been set to minimize the number of emergency facilities
"Hundreds of facilities are currently not in use in the region. Many of them are dilapidated and pose a real threat to people's lives and health. The Governor has set the task to minimize the number of dilapidated and unused buildings and structures as much as possible. Measures for the demolition of emergency facilities in the first place must be taken this year," said Vladimir Belous. He reminded the participants of the meeting of the tragedy in Mogilev, which occurred during the collapse of a cottage: "The property is private, but officials who did not react to the problem in time will also bear responsibility."
"This is a very serious issue, it is under constant control. And all the mismanagement, all such facilities along the roads are clearly visible, including from the air, so it will be impossible for the performers on the ground to hide the problem," emphasized the deputy chairman of the regional executive committee. According to Mikhail Pavlyuchkov, director of the Vitebskoblimushchestvo fund, 294 unused real estate objects in communal ownership are subject to demolition and conservation in 2017. In January-October, only 39 objects were demolished. Demolition and dismantling work has not yet begun in Tolochinsky (19 objects), Ushachsky (17), Orshansky (5), Gluboksky (3), Dubrovensky (3) districts.
According to the latest data, the Vitebskoblimushchestvo fund has received information from city and district executive committees about 238 facilities, including 166 unused livestock and other premises of agricultural organizations of state and non-state ownership, subject to demolition by the end of this year and in 2018.
"However, given the lack of funds in the budget, local authorities need to organize the implementation of these works using the forces and means of communal enterprises engaged in land reclamation, construction and road works, which have the appropriate equipment.
\"It is also worth considering involving specialized forces of the Ministry of Defense, patronage and sponsorship assistance,\" noted Mikhail Pavlyuchkov.
