In the Vitebsk region, natural gas has been supplied to 108 out of 254 agro-towns
Ceremonial events dedicated to the gasification of a settlement took place today in the agro-town of Zubrevichi, Orsha district. This was reported by the production republican unitary enterprise "Vitebskoblgaz".
Specialists noted that a high-pressure supply gas pipeline, about 6 km long, was built in the shortest possible time under the State Program for Sustainable Rural Development. As a result of the work performed, another large rural settlement in the region has been supplied with natural gas – more than 200 families have gained the opportunity to connect to the networks. "To supply gas directly to homes, residents of the agro-town can create consumer cooperatives and apply for partial financing from the budget and preferential loans, as provided for by the norms of the relevant decree of the head of state (No. 368), adopted back in 2006," the enterprise explained.
In 2005-2015, 80 agro-towns and other rural settlements were gasified in the region, with over 700 km of gas pipelines built, and more than Br140 billion were spent for these purposes.
In total, natural gas is now supplied to 108 out of 254 agro-towns in the region. The ceremony of lighting the symbolic torch in the agro-town of Zubrevichi was attended by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Nikolai Sherstnev, the General Director of the Vitebskoblgaz enterprise Petr Shershen, and the Chairman of the Orsha District Executive Committee Nikolai Lisovsky. A festive concert was prepared for the guests and participants of the celebration.
