In the Vitebsk region, 100% of healthcare workers registered for the first stage of coronavirus vaccination have been vaccinated

The planned vaccination of Belarusian healthcare workers with the Russian vaccine against coronavirus "Sputnik V" is being completed, BELTA was informed by the press service of the Ministry of Health.

Healthcare workers at risk were vaccinated first. The Ministry of Health distributed the vaccine to the regions based on the applications of healthcare institutions. All issues of cold chain compliance have been worked out.

Of the healthcare workers registered for the first stage of vaccination, over 91% have been vaccinated in the Brest region, 100% in the Vitebsk, Gomel, Grodno regions and Minsk, 78% in the Minsk region, and 94% in the Mogilev region.

The Ministry of Health added that immunization remains a crucial component in the fight against the pandemic. Vaccination is voluntary. This week, the vaccination of healthcare workers will be completed, and in parallel, workers of educational institutions, boarding schools, nursing homes, and social services – all those citizens who have a lot of contact with people due to their profession – will be vaccinated.
