In the Vitebsk region, 4.5 times more enterprise employees were vaccinated against influenza in 2010

In the Vitebsk region, 27.7 thousand people have been vaccinated against influenza this season at the expense of enterprises and organizations, which is almost 4.5 times more compared to 2009. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the Vitebsk Regional Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Public Health. This year, the number of residents of the region who decided to get vaccinated at their own expense has also increased. If last year there were 530 people, then in 2010 - 2.4 thousand. In total, 284.8 thousand people were vaccinated by the upcoming epidemic season, or every fifth resident of the region. At the same time, 177.2 thousand people received vaccinations at the expense of the local budget and 77.5 thousand - at the expense of the republican budget. As noted at the center, the significant increase in the number of vaccinated residents of the region against influenza is due to extensive information and explanatory work organized before the vaccination campaign in all medical institutions, mass media, as well as an increase in people's responsible attitude to their health. -0-
