In the Vitebsk region, the nomination of representatives to the district election commissions for the presidential election continues

В Витебской области продолжается выдвижение представителей в состав участковых комиссий по выборам Президента
Acceptance of documents for the nomination of representatives to the precinct commissions for the elections of the President of the Republic of Belarus is carried out by district executive committees, administrations of the Vitebsk districts on weekdays, as well as on June 20 and 21 on weekends, according to the weekday working hours.

Political parties and other public associations, labor collectives, and citizens by collecting signatures can nominate their representatives to the precinct commissions for the elections of the President of the Republic of Belarus. This stage will last until June 21, after which the election commissions must be formed no later than June 24.

In addition, in the current campaign, organizers will have to pay special attention to ensuring the operation of precinct commissions. Secretary of the Central Election Commission Elena Dmukhaylo drew attention to these aspects during a recent seminar in Vitebsk. These are the most numerous entities that interact with voters. Thus, when selecting places for precinct commissions where voting, including early voting, will be held, preference should be given to spacious premises on the first floors of buildings. It is important to remember that placing two precinct commissions in one place must take into account recommendations for social distancing. On the main voting day, it will be necessary to consider the arrangement of tables so that voters can receive ballots while maintaining distance. In addition, one should not forget about observers: they must be placed so that they do not interfere with each other or the commission.

Especially since, along with domestic observers, it is planned to invite their colleagues from abroad. This was announced this week by the Chairperson of the Central Election Commission Lidia Yermoshina following a meeting with the head of state on organizational issues of the election campaign. "This is our usual practice: all elections in the country are held with extensive international observation," emphasized the head of the Central Election Commission. It was decided to send appropriate invitations to the OSCE ODIHR and the CIS, which traditionally observe elections in Belarus.
