In the Vitebsk region, the popularity of the Ministry of Taxes and Duties' electronic services is growing among individuals
In the Vitebsk region, the number of citizens interacting with tax authorities through the "Personal Account" electronic service has increased by almost 1.5 times over the year, as reported by the press service of the regional tax inspectorate.
As of early July 2019, over 92,000 individuals are connected to the taxpayer's personal account, while a year ago, about 65,000 residents of the region interacted with tax officials using this service. The growing popularity of electronic services is also evidenced by the fact that in 2019, almost 1.1 thousand taxpayers submitted income tax returns electronically, using the capabilities of the "Personal Account" service, which is about 40% of the total number of those who reported income for 2018. More than 26,000 business entities also interact with tax authorities electronically, or about 80%.
Thanks to electronic services, it is possible not only to provide taxpayers with comfortable conditions for fulfilling their tax obligations but also to improve the quality of tax administration, the press service emphasized. By building partnerships with taxpayers, tax authorities pay great attention to the development of new interaction formats, including the creation of taxpayer service centers.
Today, there are three such centers operating in the Vitebsk region - in Vitebsk, Orsha, and Vitebsk districts. The service centers provide more than 60 types of services. The average service time for one client does not exceed five minutes. By the end of the year, it is planned to open two more centers based on the inspectorates for the Pervomaysky and Zheleznodorozhny districts of the regional center. In total, from January to June 2019, almost Br780 million was received into the consolidated budget of the Vitebsk region, including Br93.6 million to the republican budget and over Br680 million to the local treasury. The main sources of revenue for the region's budget are income tax, with a share of 32% of receipts, as well as excise taxes (16.7%), profit taxes (9.3%), property taxes (7%), and VAT (6%).
