In the Vitebsk region, 25 people have drowned since the beginning of July, the Vitebsk regional organization of the Belarusian Voluntary Society for the Rescue of People on Water (OSVOD) informed a BELTA correspondent. Accidents without casualties among minors were recorded in the Polotsk, Miory, Liozno, Tolochin, Sharkovshchina districts, Vitebsk and Novopolotsk. Most of them are related to swimming in unauthorized places and alcohol consumption. In order to prevent similar tragedies, OSVOD employees urge to exercise caution when relaxing near reservoirs and not to consume alcohol. Parents should be especially vigilant and never leave their children unattended, even for a short time.-0-
