In the Vitebsk region, the sowing of winter crops is planned to be completed in the third decade of September
According to information as of September 11, work has been completed on 20% of the areas intended for winter sowing. "Currently, the weather conditions are favorable, so at this stage the task is to accelerate the sowing pace in order to complete it by September 25," Mikhail Pridibaylo noted. At the same time, farms do not experience problems with equipment, but there are difficulties with machine operator personnel. They are mainly due to the need to simultaneously complete the harvesting of leguminous crops, which ripened unevenly this year. In addition, due to the late ripening of spring rapeseed, farms are still working in these fields, the chairman of the committee explained.
In total, farms in the Vitebsk region will have to sow winter crops on an area of 350 thousand hectares, of which about 250 thousand hectares are allocated for grain crops.
