In the Vitebsk region, schoolchildren are taught the basics of doing business

On September 18, the international project "School Business Companies: The Potential of Business Education for Schoolchildren" will be launched with a training seminar at the Regional Institute for the Development of Education in the Vitebsk region. The events are implemented jointly with the Vitebsk Business Center with the financial support of the Eurasia Foundation, funded by the United States Agency for International Development.

According to Ida Sitnikova, Head of the Department of the Regional Institute for the Development of Education, the idea of teaching schoolchildren the basics of business was born a year ago as a creative pedagogical project and is being successfully tested in nine schools in the Vitebsk region. The concept gained a second wind after receiving a foreign grant of $8,000. Thanks to this, it is planned to organize a training seminar for teachers and, together with the Vitebsk Business Center, establish free distance training for teachers who wish to develop school business communities in their educational institutions. To do this, they only need to register on the business center's website. In March, the Institute for the Development of Education intends to hold an exhibition and presentation of business projects by young entrepreneurs.
