In the Vitebsk region, schoolchildren are taught the basics of entrepreneurship
Pupils of the Vitebsk region are being taught the basics of entrepreneurship within the framework of the international project "School Business Companies: The Potential of Business Education for Schoolchildren".
The project is being implemented by the Regional Institute for Education Development in conjunction with the Vitebsk Business Center, with the support of the Eurasia Foundation, funded by the United States Agency for International Development.
As reported by the director of the business center, Leonid Shur, more than 10 educational institutions in the region are involved in distance learning for teachers and practical seminars. For example, a session on "Entrepreneurial Activity and Its Types" was held in March at the N. Kostyuchenko Orekhovskaya Secondary School in the Ushachi District, where children created a written portrait of an entrepreneur and defended their business ideas.
– This was the first step in this direction. As a result, in early April, we will release a brochure with materials from the schools' work experience, and also hold a forum at the Institute for Education Development with a presentation of student business companies, – said Leonid Mikhailovich. – It is important to develop entrepreneurial competence in children, to teach them to earn money honestly, and to see opportunities for development in every problem.
