A sufficient supply of antiviral drugs has been created in the Vitebsk region
February 1, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. A sufficient supply of antiviral drugs has been created in the Vitebsk region. This was announced by the head of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Healthcare Department, Yuri Derkach, today at a briefing on the incidence of ARVI and influenza in the region, a BELTA correspondent reports.
The most in-demand antiviral drugs, immunomodulatory agents, and other medicines are available in pharmacies and medical institutions of the region in sufficient quantities and assortment. Their availability is constantly monitored, said Yuri Derkach, adding that the demand for medicines remains calm.
Among the four control cities in the Vitebsk region, the disease incidence is developing most intensively in the Orsha district and Orsha, where the educational process has currently been suspended in eight schools to prevent the spread of infection. One school each has been closed for quarantine in the Liozno and Tolochin districts. Vitebsk is experiencing a moderate level of intensity. In Polotsk and Novopolotsk, it is at a low level.
Schoolchildren account for more than 60% of those who are ill. Therefore, parents should pay maximum attention to maintaining a healthy microclimate at home, personal hygiene rules, and, in case of illness, to doctors' recommendations and preventive measures, the head of the department noted.
This year, every fifth resident of the Vitebsk region, including a significant number of children, was vaccinated in preparation for winter. -0-
