The spring conscription has started in the Vitebsk region
Hugs, tears, smiles, farewell words – all this could be observed on the first day of dispatch on April 26 at the military commissariat of the city of Vitebsk, Vitebsk and Liozno districts.
More than 60 of the most prepared young men were leaving for the 5th Separate Special Purpose Brigade in Maryina Gorka and the 103rd Vitebsk Separate Guards Airborne Brigade, and to the border troops.
– In total, this spring, about 500 conscripts from the regional center and Vitebsk district will put on military uniforms and begin to learn the army science, – noted the military commissar of the city of Vitebsk, Vitebsk and Liozno districts, Colonel **Alexander Serzhantov**. – All conditions have been created in the Armed Forces for young men to acquire military registration specialties during their service and become reliable defenders of the Motherland.
Parents, relatives, girlfriends, friends – everyone who came to see off their dear ones wished the conscripts to serve with honor and dignity.
Oksana Tanchak, mother of conscript Oleksiy, who is being sent first to a training unit in Dzerzhinsk and then to the border troops, did not hide her emotions: "Today my son is taking another step into adulthood, leaving his parental home, relatives and loved ones behind. I am proud that he will join the army ranks, and that experienced commanders will be there to teach him, advise him, and help him. I wish that during his time in the army, my son gains valuable life experience, makes reliable friends, and that these eighteen months fly by quickly so we can hug him tightly again."
Vasyl Tanchak, the head of the family, said that he served in the 103rd brigade, and their son's grandfather served on the border in the Altai Territory, thousands of kilometers from home. He believes that every man must be physically and morally hardened in the army, and go through this important school.
"Recalling my youth in uniform, I want to wish my son and his comrades to learn military affairs properly, and to respect their mentors and commanders," Vasyl Tanchak advised.
"I'm in high spirits," shared conscript Oleksiy Tanchak. "How my service goes depends only on me. I tell my parents not to worry. I will serve as I should and return."
Conscript Nikita Kravchenya was seen off by many relatives – mother Alyona, grandmother Maria, aunt Kristina, sister Alina, and friend Dmitry. – There were some worries at first, but then, when they found out where and with whom our Nikita would serve, all fears disappeared, – says grandmother Maria. – Our grandson was sent to the 103rd brigade, where my husband, his grandfather Viktor, once served. He also served in Czechoslovakia and in Maryina Gorka, and I followed my husband everywhere like a thread following a needle. Since our grandson comes from a family of military personnel, he has known since childhood that the army is needed to protect the country, its integrity, and independence. May he be a worthy successor to the dynasty!
Conscript Vladislav Starchenko was seen off by his mother Elena and girlfriend Polina. They said that they would visit Vladislav together and eagerly await his return.
– I wish my son and all young men a peaceful sky, an easy service, good luck, and strong health, – said Elena Starchenko wholeheartedly. Mother of another conscript, Marina Shabaeva, shared her emotions:
– I am seeing off my son Renat for service, and next to me is my second son Sergey, who will have to go to the army in two years. Sons grow up, and we, parents, must be proud of them and not be afraid to let them go from under our wing! Only then will they become brave and independent.
