Events for the spring conscription have started in the Vitebsk region
– By May 6, conscripts will be sent to the Armed Forces, Internal Troops, and military units of the State Border Committee, – informed the head of the military service conscription department of the regional military commissariat, Colonel Alexey Nenakhov. – About 20% of them have higher education. Additional send-offs will take place until May 30.
This spring, as last year, citizens who are first-year students of Belarusian higher education institutions of agricultural profile will be called up for service in the reserve. We remind you that they can serve during their summer holidays to go to their universities immediately after completing their training. This year, their send-off will be on July 8.
Our countrymen understand that military service is an honorable duty of every citizen. Evgeny Tsyganka from Polotsk is being sent to the military commandant's office. The young man has already managed to get a professional education, having studied as a programmer at the Polotsk Economic College and Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics.
– At 24, I am morally and physically ready for army service, as I have also been involved in various sports, including Muay Thai, rowing, football, and others, – he noted.
Stanislav Shibeko from Vitebsk will serve in the airborne forces. He has good physical fitness. He seriously engaged in athletics, overcoming distances of more than 30 kilometers. The young man is also a certified specialist: he studied logistics at MITSO. He graduated with honors and entered the master's program in "Jurisprudence". There was one month left until his thesis defense, but a summons from the military enlistment office arrived. Now he will receive it only in a year.
Farewell words to the conscripts were addressed by representatives of public associations "Belarusian Union of Veterans of the War in Afghanistan" and "Belarusian Union of Officers", BRSM, the regional public organization of soldiers' mothers, and the church.
On the parade ground of the collection point, demonstration performances by soldiers of the 103rd Vitebsk Separate Guards Airborne Brigade were held for the conscripts, parents, and honored guests.
