В Витебской области субботник дал старт трудовой акции по приведению в порядок дорог
In the Vitebsk region, the republican subbotnik has launched work to tidy up local roads. This was announced to journalists by the chairman of the regional executive committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, in response to a question from a BELTA correspondent during a labor event at the Yanka Kupala Memorial Reserve in the village of Levki, Orsha district.

The governor noted that the subbotnik is a traditional labor event during which the country tidies itself up. "In the Vitebsk region, we have identified two main areas: teams of enterprises and organizations are tidying up their assigned territories, and a large volume of work is planned for the roads," said Nikolai Sherstnev. "Intra-district and intra-farm roads are in a deplorable state, and the roadside strips are overgrown with trees and bushes. To rectify the situation, we are launching a regional labor campaign from today's subbotnik, which is aimed at tidying up our roads."

Employees of the regional executive committee decided to hold the subbotnik in Levki. "About 150 people are working here today. We want to tidy up the territory in one day. Then we will need to paint, build gazebos, and equip rest areas so that this site becomes attractive to people," emphasized the head of the region. Levki is associated with the life and work of Yanka Kupala. Having visited these places in 1935, the poet was delighted by the beauty of the region and decided to build a dacha on the banks of the Dnieper. Currently, Levki houses a branch of the Yanka Kupala State Literary Museum (the poet's dacha has been recreated), and around the museum is a memorial reserve with an area of 19 hectares.
