In the Vitebsk region, the educational process as of February 8 has been resumed after quarantine in five schools, the chief physician of the Vitebsk Regional Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Public Health Vladimir Sinkevich told a BELTA correspondent. After unplanned holidays, schoolchildren from educational institutions in Orsha, Liozno and Tolochin districts, which were previously closed due to a large number of sick students, returned to classes. Along with this, in order to prevent the spread of infection, the educational process has been suspended in 82 schools in Orsha, Vitebsk, Dubrovno, Glubokoe, Lepel and Senno districts. At the same time, children make up the main part of the sick, accounting for about 60%. Vladimir Sinkevich also noted that during the period of active epidemic process, a set of anti-epidemic measures is in effect in Orsha, Vitebsk, and from February 9 - in Novopolotsk. In addition, monitoring is being carried out on the availability of the necessary quantity of medicines and medical devices in healthcare organizations and the pharmacy network. -0-
