In the Vitebsk region, the trend of a decrease in ARVI incidence has strengthened
At today's meeting of the regional headquarters for combating the spread of ARVI and coronavirus infection on April 9, the situation over the past day was characterized by the new head of the main department for healthcare of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Mikhail Vishnevetsky.
The Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, asked the head of the regional health department about his first impressions of the organization of medical care in the institutions, and what might require adjustments. Mikhail Vishnevetsky replied that the situation in Vitebsk and the region is under control. On April 8, work continued on repurposing facilities to receive respiratory patients. Taking into account the decrease in ARVI and pneumonia, there is an opportunity to carry out some redeployment, to send some people for further treatment, so that specialized clinics can deal with more severe patients.
- As of April 9, the region has strengthened the trend towards a decrease in ARVI incidence. Compared to the previous day, it decreased by another 12.2 percent in the region as a whole, with a decrease in cities and Beshenkovichi district, and an increase in Braslavsky, Verkhnedvinsky, Gluboksky, Dokshitsky, Sennensky, and Tolochinsky districts. The remaining regions show a decrease.
In the region's hospitals as of April 9, there is a noticeable decrease: 183 compared to 260 hospitalized the previous day in the region as a whole, of which 117 compared to 192 people were in Vitebsk. The number of severe pneumonia cases remains without growth, as does the number of patients on artificial lung ventilation.
If this trend continues for several more days, Mikhail Vishnevetsky said, then it will be possible to assume that we have reached a plateau in the incidence of ARVI and pneumonia. The Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, asked the head of the regional health department about his first impressions of the organization of medical care in the institutions, and what might require adjustments.
