In the Vitebsk region, demands on officials for working with citizens' appeals will be strengthened

В Витебской области усилят спрос с чиновников за работу с обращениями граждан

In the Vitebsk region, officials will be held administratively liable for dishonest work with citizens' appeals. This was announced by the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, summing up the results of a direct telephone line with the region's population.

The head of the region noted that similar problems are mainly voiced during direct lines. "The vast majority of them are issues related to housing and communal services. Literally all problems could be solved without the involvement of the regional executive committee. But for some reason, this is not happening, and the links that are supposed to directly resolve the applicants' issues are not working effectively. Therefore, we have decided that we will take every issue under our control, and if facts are revealed that specialists gave an incorrect answer, did not fully understand the issue, or did not resolve it, even though it was within their power, we will bring them to administrative responsibility. There is no other way. Because there are calls where applicants say that they have already contacted a direct line, after which specialists came, but a simple issue remained unresolved. This is unacceptable," Nikolai Sherstnev is convinced. Giving a general assessment of today's direct line, Nikolai Sherstnev emphasized that residents of the region did not raise any acute or serious problems. Citizens are interested in the development prospects of settlements, and issues of road construction, street paving, and major repairs of residential buildings (mainly in Vitebsk) remain relevant. "The number of calls is not decreasing. And this indicates that citizens know that if they get through, the issue will be taken under control, and measures will be taken to resolve it," said the governor. "We are making every effort to resolve problems, and in the majority of cases, citizens' issues are being resolved."
