In the Vitebsk region, it is planned to employ 80 disabled people in 2010, said Nikolai Glushonok, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, at a meeting of the committee today, BELTA correspondent reports. Helping people with psychophysical disabilities to find employment is a task of particular importance, Nikolai Glushonok emphasized. To this end, it is planned to completely update the database of disabled people who wish to work and have the appropriate medical indications by March 1. It is also necessary to determine the list of enterprises of all forms of ownership for the creation of 80 jobs for this category of citizens. Br1.6 billion has been allocated for their subsidies, which indicates the attention the state pays to creating a barrier-free environment in society and to assistance aimed at the social adaptation of disabled people. Certain steps have already been taken to attract disabled people to paid work in the region. Gluboksky, Polotsk and Postavy districts can share their successful experience in this area. At the same time, the latter region has developments in organizing home-based work for people with psychophysical disabilities, Nikolai Glushonok noted. -0-
