In the Vitebsk region, employment was organized for 97% of individuals registered with the Juvenile Inspection in June

In the Vitebsk region in June, about 97% of children registered with juvenile affairs inspectorates (IDN) were involved in useful activities. This was reported by Tamara Olekhnovich, Deputy Chairperson of the Commission for Juvenile Affairs of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.

"Summer 2016 is well-planned and is proceeding in an organized manner. About 47,000 children will be undergoing health improvement in camps, 2.7 thousand schoolchildren will spend time in labor and recreation camps, and about 2,000 in specialized camps, including tent camps. These figures are approximately at the same level as last year," noted Tamara Olekhnovich.

Great attention is paid to the employment of children registered with the juvenile affairs inspectorate.

"There are about 1.5 thousand such individuals in the region. Their recreation is planned – it includes health improvement in camps, organized labor employment, and individual employment. For instance, in June, 97% of those registered were engaged in useful activities. In July and August, this figure will decrease slightly due to the reduction in the number of camps. We are focusing on strengthening efforts in employing older schoolchildren and students of vocational education," said Tamara Olekhnovich.

With the assistance of employment services, about 4,000 children will be employed this summer. Financial support is provided to families to organize a full-fledged recreation for children. "Taking into account the need for health improvement and employment, subsidies from government bodies and the budget are provided. In regions where there are families in particular need of support, executive committees help to compensate for the parental co-payment for vouchers. For example, in Beshenkovichi and Dubrovno districts, families can send children to camp with a minimal co-payment," noted the deputy chairperson of the commission. Today, a joint meeting of the regional coordination council for monitoring the implementation of Decree No. 18 "On additional measures for state protection of children in dysfunctional families" and the commission for juvenile affairs of the regional executive committee was held in Vitebsk.
