In the Vitebsk region, 3.9% of voters cast their ballots on the first day of early voting

On the first day of early voting in the local council elections, 3.9% of voters in the Vitebsk region exercised their right, the regional election commission informed a BELTA correspondent. On April 20, 876 polling stations began operating in the region for early voting. In the Dubrovno district, voter turnout was 7.3%, in Shumilino - 6.5%, in Rossony - 6.3%. In Orsha, 1.8% of voters took advantage of early voting, in Dokshitsy district - 2.9%, in Glubokoye - 3%. Over 894,000 people are included in the voter lists for the local council elections in the Vitebsk region. A total of over 3.7 thousand candidates for deputies have been registered in the region. During the election campaign, 18 candidates withdrew their candidacies, including 12 who were running for the regional council of deputies. In the Vitebsk region, 3,530 deputies are to be elected, including 60 for the regional council, 713 for district councils, 195 for city councils of cities of regional and district subordination, as well as 2,562 for primary level councils (rural and settlement). -0-
