In the Vitebsk region, 195 people were included in the election commissions for the House of Representatives elections

The personal composition of the Vitebsk regional and 14 district election commissions for the election of deputies to the House of Representatives of the National Assembly was approved yesterday at a joint meeting of the presidium of the regional Council of Deputies and the regional executive committee.

The composition of all commissions has been approved with the maximum number of members - 13 people each. Thus, 195 people will work in the commissions - these are representatives of public associations, political parties, labor collectives, and citizens. In total, more than 280 people were nominated. The selection was carried out by open voting for each candidate. Opening the joint meeting, the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, emphasized that the current election campaign for the House of Representatives has some innovations. In particular, the elections will be held in one round - to elect a deputy, more than half of the district's voters must participate in the voting, and the candidate must receive a relative majority of votes. For the first time in parliamentary elections, regional and Minsk city election commissions are being formed, to which part of the powers of the Central Election Commission has been transferred. "The formation of commissions is one of the important stages of the election campaign. The composition of election commissions should be selected based on high business, moral, and human qualities," emphasized the head of the region. He recalled that on June 24, the nomination of representatives to the regional and district commissions was completed.

"All entities with the right to nominate their representatives to the commissions have exercised it. Candidates were nominated by political parties, public associations, labor collectives, and citizens. Information about the nominees is posted on the website of the regional executive committee," the governor concluded. The Belarusian Left Party "A Just World", the Communist Party of Belarus, the Liberal Democratic Party, the BNF Party, the Republican Party of Labor and Social Justice, as well as public associations "Belaya Rus", BRSM, the Belarusian Public Association of Veterans, the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus, the Belarusian Union of War Veterans nominated their representatives to the commissions.

The composition of the election commissions has been approved, and now local authorities must provide the commissions with premises for work, equip them with the necessary office equipment and communication, and also determine the time for holding the first meetings. As for the regional commission, its organizational meeting will take place tomorrow (June 28). Residents of the Vitebsk region will have to elect 14 deputies to the House of Representatives on September 11.
