In the Vitebsk region, the gross grain harvest in all categories of farms exceeded 1 million tons

The harvest in the region is not yet complete. In the public sector, about 10 thousand hectares of spring grain and leguminous crops remain to be harvested. Rains are hindering the work of harvesters. The total regional harvest in all categories of farms is currently 1.008 thousand tons. At the same time, 978 thousand tons of grain were harvested in the public sector, the harvest on private plots of villagers amounted to 22.7 thousand tons, and farmers threshed 7.3 thousand tons of grain. This year, the grain yield in the region is 4.4 centners higher than last year's figure and amounts to 32.3 centners per hectare. In the 2017 harvest, for the first time in the Vitebsk region, a crew of combine operators harvested more than 4 thousand tons of grain - the duo of grain growers from OJSC "Orshansky KHP" Sergey Grekov and Andrey Sushkevich. The rapeseed harvest continues in the region - 85.5% of the work has been completed, and potatoes have been harvested from 37% of the areas.
