In the Vitebsk region, preparations are underway to nominate participants for the V All-Belarusian People's Congress
At the meeting of the regional organizing committee for the preparation and holding of the V All-Belarusian People's Congress, chaired by the Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies Vladimir Terentyev, representation norms for participants from the Vitebsk region were discussed. The leadership of authorities and local self-government bodies of cities and districts joined the conversation via videoconference.
– Two city and 21 district organizing committees have been established to prepare for this crucial political event. Four working groups have been organized to promptly and effectively address emerging issues, responsible for key areas of activity. A draft of representation norms for participants from each city and district of the Vitebsk region has been developed: 1 delegate per 2,831 people over 18 years of age, meaning the number of delegates depends on the local population. Organizations where meetings for the nomination of authorized representatives will be held are yet to be determined, – reported Vladimir Terentyev.
As explained by Vladimir Severin, Head of the Main Organizational and Personnel Department of the Regional Executive Committee, as of January 1, 2015, there are 990,966 people over 18 years of age registered in the Vitebsk region, which means that our region will be represented by 350 delegates at the V All-Belarusian People's Congress. The smallest number of delegates is from the Rossony district – 3 people, and the largest number is from Vitebsk – 109 delegates.
