In the Vitebsk region, more than 700 students from vocational and secondary specialized educational institutions will undergo practical training during the sowing campaign
In the Vitebsk region, over 700 students of vocational and secondary specialized educational institutions are planned to be sent to agricultural organizations for practical training during spring field work, as reported by the main department for education of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
The youth will consolidate knowledge and skills in specialties such as tractor driver-machinist, technician-mechanic, electric welder, and mechanic for repairing agricultural machinery and vehicles. Close cooperation has been established with the Committee for Agriculture and Food of the Regional Executive Committee to organize practical training at the best farms in the region. Curricula for all specialties have been revised to double the duration of practical training and expand production training.
In addition, internships for teachers and production training masters of vocational and secondary specialized educational institutions are regularly organized to familiarize them with modern technologies and equipment. In 2018, over 150 specialists underwent internships at nearly 160 organizations and resource centers in Vitebsk and Gorodok.
According to the Committee for Agriculture and Food of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, agricultural organizations require over 6.3 thousand machine operators for spring field work, including about 1.4 thousand people for operating high-power machinery in two-shift mode. The personnel shortage is to be addressed by attracting approximately 220 contract workers and reassigning staff from other areas within the farms. About 560 specialists from industrial enterprises are planned to be sent to assist the farms.
