The incident occurred in the Polotsk district, Viktor Vorobyov, head of the Polotsk District Department of Internal Affairs, told a BELTA correspondent. A resident of the Polotsk district, who was driving the expensive SUV under a power of attorney, contacted the police. According to him, he left the car, equipped with an alarm system, at his home for several days (at the end of February - beginning of March) and left himself. The owner of the car is a resident of Moscow. On March 10, a criminal case was initiated on this fact under Part 4 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus "Theft on a particularly large scale". It is likely that colleagues of Belarusian police officers from the border regions of the Russian Federation will join the search for the golden metallic 2005 Hummer. There are 8 Hummers registered with the traffic police in the Vitebsk region. According to the information and public relations department of the Vitebsk Regional Department of Internal Affairs, 34 cars have been stolen and hijacked in the region since the beginning of the current year, and 31 have been found.
