"Student of the Year" was chosen in the Vitebsk region

В Витебской области выбрали \"Студента года\"
Representatives of six higher education institutions of the Vitebsk region competed for the title of "Student of the Year," showcasing their charm, creativity, talents, eloquence, and knowledge of the history and culture of their native land to the fullest.

Over the years of its existence, this BRSM project in the Vitebsk region has gained immense popularity. For the first time, the Vitebsk branch of "MITSO" joined the Vitebsk and Polotsk State Universities, the Medical University, the Technological University, and the Veterinary Academy, which traditionally conquer this Olympus. The best students from their respective institutions (over 40 people participated in the preliminary stages) met at the Medical University, whose assembly hall was overflowing with emotions and positivity, only quieting down during the jury's scoring and the touching moments in the participants' performances. And there were many such moments in the contests of book presentations "Krynica Mudrasci" (Source of Wisdom), video clips "Ya – Student" (I am a Student), an intellectual challenge, and the creative "Belarus Cultural."

Alexey Novikov, a 2nd-year student of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the Veterinary Academy, touched the audience's hearts by performing "Malitva" (Prayer) by "Pesniary" to the lyrics of Yanka Kupala. The screen displayed images of departed individuals who had made significant contributions to Vitebsk. Olga Musatova, a 2nd-year student of the Faculty of Economics and Law at the MITSO branch, made the audience reflect on the role of each person in the justice system. Anna Taran, a representative of the Faculty of Arts and Technology at VSTU, delighted with her taste and sense of beauty.

Special thanks to the organizers for the favorite book presentation contest. It is pleasant to note that the Belarusian language and literature reigned here, with excerpts from the works "Taras on Parnassus," "Shliakhtsits Zavalnya, or Belarus in Fantastic Stories," and novels by Vladimir Korotkevich being read. Natalia Tararyshkina, a student of the Philological Faculty of VSU named after P. Masherov, touched the audience with an excerpt from "Leonida will not return to the earth." According to the results of all contests, the girl, a scholarship holder of the Special Fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus, correspondent, host, and director of university television programs, took third place. Second place went to a future surgeon, a student of the Medical Faculty of the Medical University, also a scholarship holder of the Presidential Fund, Egor Vetashkov, who is already ready to save people and fill them with energy and positivity.

And the winner of the regional stage and the representative of Vitebsk region at the republican competition was Dmitry Kukso, a 4th-year student of the Faculty of Finance and Economics of Polotsk State University, who impressed with his talents and charisma. A laureate of the scholarship named after Maxim Bogdanovich of the Ministry of Education, he set the poems of this Belarusian author to music by Max Korzh, urged to read Yan Borshchevsky, introduced the past and present of his university, and created a high-tech portfolio. So the jury had no choice but to congratulate Dmitry on his victory. He, in turn, modestly remarked:
– I am a small cog in a huge mechanism. Many people worked to make this dream come true! Thank you!

Polotsk State University has become the best for the second year in a row. Among the fans was the previous winner Nikolai Rozum, who will help Dmitry prepare for the republican stage. The main prize is also ahead: a trip to Tallinn – Riga – Stockholm from the travel agency "Ilva."
