This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by Sergey Anufriev, First Deputy Head of the Vitebsk Regional Department of the State Labor Inspectorate of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection. The number of fatal work accidents in January-March increased by one compared to the same period last year, while the number of injuries decreased by four. In terms of territorial distribution, such incidents were recorded in Braslavsky, Vitebsky, Miorsky, Orshansky, Polotsky, Postavsky, Ushachsky districts, as well as in Vitebsk, Orsha, Polotsk, and Novopolotsk. In order to prevent accidents, 176 inspections were carried out at enterprises and organizations in the first quarter to ensure compliance with labor protection legislation. During these inspections, 110 orders were issued to eliminate 1.2 thousand identified violations, 126 fines were imposed, and the operation of 1 workshop, 110 machines, equipment, and other machinery was suspended. Based on the results of the inspections, 47 officials were brought to disciplinary action, including 5 dismissals. -0-
