In the Vitebsk region, 90 officials have been brought to disciplinary responsibility for non-compliance with Directive No. 2

September 9, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. In the Vitebsk region, 90 officials have been brought to disciplinary responsibility over six months for non-compliance with the requirements of Directive No. 2 "On measures for further debureaucratization of the state apparatus" and legislation on citizens' appeals, the department for work with citizens' appeals of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent. Demands on officials are increasing: last year, in January-June, disciplinary sanctions were imposed on 56 officials of executive and administrative bodies. At the same time, the regional executive committee notes that in the first half of the current year, the number of citizens' appeals to city and district executive committees decreased by 16.4%, which indicates a decrease in public trust in basic-level executive and administrative bodies. Housing and communal services issues prevail in citizens' appeals, accounting for 26%. The number of such appeals has increased by a third compared to the first half of 2008. Pressing issues remain the maintenance of residential buildings, compliance with deadlines for major repairs, their conduct, and quality. City and district executive committees allow cases of red tape in resolving citizens' appeals concerning housing legal relations: violation of the procedure and deadlines for administrative procedures for registering those in need of better housing conditions, privatization of housing, and recognition of housing as not meeting sanitary and technical requirements. According to employees of the regional executive committee department, cases of formal consideration of appeals on land management and land use issues occur at the basic level. In the first half of the year, the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee received 1974 citizens' appeals, an increase of 18.9% compared to the same period last year. Of the appeals received, 1021 fell within the competence of city and district executive committees and their subordinate bodies. -0-
