In the Vitebsk region, 14 foreigners lost their residence permits in six months for systematic violation of the Code of Administrative Offenses

August 1, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. In the Vitebsk region, for six months, permits for permanent residence have been revoked for 14 foreigners for systematic violation of the administrative legislation of Belarus, the head of the citizenship and migration department of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Tatyana Romashova, told a BELTA correspondent.

Since the middle of last year, a new version of the law "On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens and Stateless Persons in the Republic of Belarus" has come into force, which introduced a number of changes to the procedure for entry and stay of foreign citizens and stateless persons in the country.

The grounds for depriving a residence permit may include the commission of a criminal offense by a foreigner, as well as cases of repeated bringing to administrative responsibility within one year. As Tatyana Romashova noted, a foreigner's permit for permanent residence can be revoked regardless of the category of offenses - these can be offenses against traffic safety, and against public order. One can also lose a residence permit if a foreign citizen does not have a legal source of income that provides all family members with a subsistence minimum for more than six months in a calendar year.

In 6 months of the current year, 192 foreigners left Belarus in the Vitebsk region due to the revocation of residence permits. Most often, the permit for permanent residence was withdrawn due to departure outside Belarus for a permanent place of residence, as well as from those foreigners who, having a residence permit, did not reside in the country for more than 183 days. -0-
