Bars and restaurants violating fire safety rules will be closed in the Vitebsk region

This was announced today to journalists by the Prosecutor of the Vitebsk region Gennady Dysko, BELTA correspondent reports. According to Gennady Dysko, this decision was made in connection with the results of monitoring the causes of fires at facilities with mass gatherings of people. To some extent, it is also due to the recent tragic events in Perm. As reported by the head of the Vitebsk regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Vasily Chekan, over the past week, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, together with law enforcement officials, checked compliance with fire safety regulations in 249 entertainment venues in the region: bars, restaurants, clubs, etc. Various violations - from minor to serious - were identified in most of them. For example, at 47 facilities, the alarm system was faulty, at 23, evacuation routes were cluttered, at 44, emergency exits were blocked, and employees of 49 establishments did not know how to use primary fire extinguishing equipment. At the same time, no facility exceeded the established number of visitors, noted Vasily Chekan. He also emphasized that venues where such violations are detected will lose their operating licenses. Inspection raids in the region will continue. Moreover, now schools, hospitals, orphanages, nursing homes, and other facilities with mass gatherings of people will also be under the scrutiny of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and law enforcement agencies. -0-
