All horse-drawn transport will be registered in the Vitebsk region

This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by Olesya Seregina, head of the agitation and propaganda department of the traffic police department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Internal Affairs Directorate. The decision to register horse-drawn carts used on public roads has been made to ensure road traffic safety, as well as to bring them into compliance with established rules. The procedure will be carried out free of charge at district and city traffic police departments or at the location of the transport. After registration, their owners will be issued five-digit license plates, which, along with information about the owner, will be entered into a centralized database. Organizations and enterprises that have horse-drawn carts on their balance sheets will receive schedules for registration and technical inspection by August 20. In case of violation of traffic rules by drivers operating unregistered transport, maximum administrative measures will be applied, noted Olesya Seregina. If a driver moves with violations on a registered horse-drawn cart (without a reflective vest or on transport not equipped with reflective elements), their technical inspection will be canceled, and information about this will be entered into the database. -0-
