Vitebsk State University plans to open a school for future officers
Students in grades 8-11 will be recruited for the school for future officers. Here, schoolchildren will be able to acquire knowledge and skills in general military training, study samples of small arms, grenade launchers, and combat vehicles. The program will also help young men master the basics of a soldier's tactics in combat, and learn what a cadet might encounter during the first months of training at a higher military educational institution and field exercises.
Experienced officers from the university's military department will teach at the school. The training period will be seven months, after which students will receive certificates.
Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherov annually recruits for schools for young criminologists, programmers, journalists, foreign language enthusiasts, and other specialties. These schools are designed to teach young men and women the basics of a profession and help them choose one.
The military department at Vitebsk State University has been operating since 2007. It is a structural unit of the university and trains students in programs for junior commanders (sergeants) and reserve officers. At the end of the second stage of training, final practical training is conducted in military units of the Armed Forces of Belarus.
