In a Vitebsk cinema, a teenage girl had gas sprayed in her face from a canister
In mid-February, law enforcement agencies received a report from a healthcare facility stating that a 14-year-old girl had sought medical attention for a chemical eye burn.
The bodily harm was inflicted upon the 8th-grade student of a gymnasium in the regional center by a resident of Vitebsk, born in 1996, who had a prior conviction for hooliganism. The young man ambushed the teenage girl in the vestibule of the ticket office of the "Dom Kino" cinema, after which, holding the teenager by force, he sprayed the contents of a gas canister into her face.
It was established that the accused's actions were characterized by spontaneity, causelessness, and aggressiveness. The man was not previously acquainted with the victim, and no conflict situations arose between them before the incident.
Currently, the man has been charged under Part 3 of Article 339 (especially malicious hooliganism) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus. A measure of restraint in the form of detention has been applied to the accused.
Investigators of the Investigative Committee of the Vitebsk Region appeal to the city residents: if you have witnessed the commission of the described criminal actions, please report it by calling: 102, 80212 48-66-37. Confidentiality is guaranteed.
