The Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee summed up the results of the work of territorial defense management bodies

The Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee has summed up the results of another stage of territorial defense training. This year, the region's territorial defense bodies held over 85 events to practice a set of strategic deterrence measures. Among the main ones are training sessions with the leadership of defense bodies in the Braslav district, classes with reserve officers at the region's training grounds, and classes to maintain the readiness of territorial defense bodies. At the meeting, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin and Military Commissar of the Vitebsk Region Ruslan Shkodin presented certificates of honor and letters of gratitude to officials for achieving high indicators in the training and execution of territorial defense tasks in the Vitebsk region.

Another stage of territorial defense training has been completed in the region. "This year, we held 86 events, some of which we organized ourselves. Among the main ones are training sessions with the leadership of defense bodies in the Braslav district, classes with reserve officers at the region's training grounds, and classes to maintain the readiness of territorial defense bodies. The results were high. Each official at their workplace understands the responsibility and the tasks that need to be performed, especially since this year's training took place against the backdrop of destabilization of the situation around the Republic of Belarus," said Igor Lazovsky.

Military Commissar of the Vitebsk region Ruslan Shkodin noted that the current difficult situation outside our country is developing under the influence of the confrontation between Russia and the so-called collective West. European countries are increasing their military potential, modernizing military facilities, and conducting exercises in which Russia and its ally Belarus act as probable adversaries, while practicing far from defensive actions. Financial and military technical support for Ukraine from the US and EU countries leads to the prolongation of the conflict. "Belarus takes a position of settling the confrontation peacefully in this regard. It is more expedient not to rattle sabers, but to sit down at the negotiating table, as the head of our state has repeatedly noted," emphasized Ruslan Shkodin.

He also emphasized the intensifying information war against Belarus and attempts to unleash a civil war in the country with a subsequent forceful seizure of power by foreign "patrons." "Fugitives and their curators are discrediting the military-political leadership, the armed forces, and law enforcement agencies. They declare their readiness to allegedly liberate the country as early as 2023, and in reality, to begin large-scale sabotage and subversive activities in Belarus. The peak of the buildup of destructive forces is expected in the years when electoral campaigns will be held in the country. During this time, external forces will try to organize sabotage and provoke mass riots escalating into armed confrontation. For the country's military-political leadership, in such a situation, the implementation of an effective military policy that allows countering modern threats remains important. Even today, troops and forces are performing combat duty tasks in an enhanced mode, reconnaissance is constantly conducted in all its forms, intelligence information exchange with our allies is organized, and the protection and defense of the state border are carried out. For us, the task set in our plans is to increase the effectiveness of territorial defense and implement a set of measures for strategic deterrence, both non-military and military in nature," said the military commissar of the Vitebsk region.

The event was also attended by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin and the Aide to the President - Inspector for the Vitebsk Region Anatoly Linevich. The head of the region and Ruslan Shkodin presented honorary awards - certificates of honor and letters of gratitude - to officials for achieving high performance in the preparation and execution of territorial defense tasks in the Vitebsk region.
