The guests were welcomed to the friendly ancient Vitebsk land by the Deputy Chairperson of the Regional Executive Committee, Anzhelika Nikitina.
– The Vitebsk region today has something to be proud of and something to offer in terms of trade turnover, cooperation, and import substitution. We successfully operate in various sectors, from heavy and light industry, petrochemicals to meat and dairy processing. Instrument and machine tool manufacturing are developing. Vitebsk carpets are known worldwide, and their supply geography is very extensive. Our region is successfully engaged in flax cultivation and the production of electric charging stations. Wood processing is widely developed here, and we are mastering new technologies in this area. Nevertheless, there are many vacant niches, and we are ready for business cooperation. We are also ready to welcome all our friends to the Vitebsk land, – noted Anzhelika Alexandrovna.
The participants discussed points of contact, common interests, and the desire of the CIS countries' peoples to preserve the historical truth about the Great Patriotic War. Particular interest was shown in the tourism and cultural spheres, and development in education and healthcare, including sanatorium and resort treatment.
