В Витебском облисполкоме торжественно вручили паспорта талантливым школьникам в рамках акции «Мы – граждане Беларуси!»
Traditionally, on March 15, Constitution Day of the Republic of Belarus, in the Vitebsk region, the best representatives of the younger generation who have reached the age of 14 are solemnly presented with passports as part of the BRSM patriotic campaign "We are Citizens of Belarus!".

This time, more than 300 talented young men and women are receiving their most important document in a festive atmosphere with the participation of representatives of local authorities and the public. They have already proven their active civic stance through personal achievements in studies, science, creativity, sports, various patriotic, charitable, and other public projects.

Eleven schoolchildren came to Vitebsk today from different parts of the region to receive their passports from the hands of the chairman of the regional executive committee, Nikolai Sherstnev. The head of the region congratulated the children on their first step into independent life, presented each of them with the coveted document certifying their identity and belonging to the country, gave them the book "I am a Citizen of the Republic of Belarus," and, of course, gave them words of encouragement.

– Each of you has proven yourselves – some in academics, some in culture, sports. We are already proud of you. But we want you to understand: by receiving a passport of a citizen of the Republic of Belarus, you embark on the path of state thinking, you must measure all your actions by the fact that you are full citizens of your country, you bear responsibility for it and create its image. No matter how banal it may sound, the bet is on the youth today. The stronger, more educated individuals you become, the stronger our state will be. We must build the future together, – emphasized Nikolay Nikolayevich.

The participants of the meeting had the opportunity to ask the young Belarusians questions of interest during the open dialogue "Unity! Development! Independence!". The teenagers were interested in a wide range of issues, from the importance of the declared Year of National Unity to professions that will be in demand in the region in the coming years. The guys couldn't resist asking the governor a few personal questions, such as what books he reads, what internet resources he draws information from, and whether he remembers the moment he received his own passport.

– Passports were presented to us, rural guys, at the Orsha District Department of Internal Affairs. It wasn't as solemn as yours, but rather a routine event, nevertheless, I remember those feelings. Having received my passport, I felt like an almost adult person who could already forge his own path, – Nikolay Nikolayevich sincerely replied. He expects the same independence and responsibility from today's young people.

The guys left the regional executive committee building with a new official status – that of a full citizen of the Republic of Belarus, as well as the realization that they are on the right track – towards continuous development and self-improvement, and achieving their set goals. And no matter how ambitious their plans may be, they can always find points of support and growth in their native region.

After the official part of the event was completed, the young citizens were treated to an entertainment program at the virtual reality club.
